Delivering Next-Level Access to Care for Healthcare Organizations and Their Patients with Hyro’s AI Platform

Why We're Investing in Hyro
We are thrilled to announce our participation in Hyro's $45 million strategic growth funding round.
Founded by technical experts CEO Israel Krush and COO Rom Cohen, Hyro has quickly become a leader in the healthcare AI agent space, dedicated to transforming access to care and operational success in healthcare. Having established partnerships with over 40 leading U.S. health systems, Hyro is only getting started. We are excited to partner with Hyro and join them on the journey ahead as they deliver production-grade voice and chat AI agents to healthcare organizations and their patients.
The Challenge: Losing the Healthcare Consumer
The healthcare industry is at a critical juncture. Patient expectations are rising, and legacy healthcare technologies and infrastructure are struggling to keep up with new demands. Patients now see themselves as consumers, expecting faster, more transparent, and more convenient care. Health systems and payers must adopt a consumer-focused mindset to properly serve their members to maintain market share.
A recent McKinsey Study shows that patients are starting to vote with their feet. If a patient has a poor experience or difficulty scheduling an appointment, more than 55% will choose a different provider or alternative type of care, such as telehealth or urgent care clinics. Similarly, an Accenture Study on healthcare access found that experience and access are the top factors influencing a patient’s choice of provider and site of service.
Health systems and payers have worked to meet these new demands, but current solutions are often high-cost, fragmented, and rely on manual interactions between staff and patients. This leaves operators overburdened and burnt out from a consistently increasing scope of work.
Hyro's Solution: Responsible AI Agents for Healthcare
Hyro’s platform was developed to alleviate these pain points, allowing health system and payer customers to extend their reach and provide a best-in-class experience wherever their consumers are.
Unlike single-point solutions, Hyro offers a comprehensive, production-grade AI platform built specifically for the complexities of modern healthcare. The platform is customized to the individual customers' intricacies and meets consumers where they are by deploying AI agents across various channels, including voice, chat, SMS, mobile apps, and websites, and functioning through both inbound and outbound capacities. Crucially, the platform achieves deep interoperability, seamlessly integrating with a system’s or payer’s software vendors, connecting disparate data sources, and orchestrating complex clinical and administrative workflows—a necessary foundation for large, regulated healthcare organizations.
Hyro’s technology has been deployed and integrated into >40 leading health systems nationwide and has shown significant value in improving patient experience and resolution rates while reducing administrative costs:
- Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM): After just two weeks of development, Hyro was able to integrate conversational AI into their website to improve patient navigation and directly schedule appointments. A retrospective analysis found the AI agent helped WCM increase online booked appointments by 47% and boosted pages viewed per session by 350% from the baseline.
- Inova: Hyro deployed its voice AI platform to support the central call center with appointment management, routing and patient self-service use cases. The solution automated approximately 50% of appointment management calls (over 300,000 calls during the study period), saving the health system around 4,275 hours per month in additional capacity.
Trust is always at the heart of healthcare, which is why Hyro’s products are engineered with a focus on "Responsible AI" standards that have been battle-tested through extensive experience with existing customers. This entails robust safeguards for explainability, compliance and control, including the use of proprietary Small Language Models (“SLMs”) that aid in maintaining model transparency and pulling exclusively from relevant data sources. Additionally, AI agents are always on the lookout for out-of-scope discussion points and quick to escalate interactions requiring human intervention where applicable, ensuring patients are in safe hands.
